The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District is excited to announce that the glass bottles & jars depot pilot project for the Britannia Beach community is here to STAY!!

As a reminder, here are a few guidelines to ensure the pilot project is successful:
The Glass Depot is in the same location as the yard waste bins.
As always, we welcome all feedback! Please email any questions, comments or concerns to mleblanc@slrd.bc.ca.
A special thank you to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for their support in allowing the SLRD to use their site.

curbside pick up schedule
We have returned to bi-weekly organic's curbside pick up.
Please see calendar pdf below for the schedule.
Thank you for your patience with any service delays as waste collection crews continue to manage service during snowy and icy road conditions. Collection times may vary based on snow clearing.
To help the crews please:
- Check that tote lids are not frozen shut.
- When placing the tote at the end of the driveway, ensure the tote is accessible by keeping in mind snowbanks, vehicles and maintaining a 1-meter distance between each tote.
- Some material may freeze to the bottom of the totes making it difficult to empty. Tip: Lining the bottom of your organic tote with brown material such as cardboard or paper, as well as adding a layer before emptying the contents of your kitchen catcher into the tote, will help reduce the amount of material freezing to the bottom.
- When parking on the street, ensure the waste collection truck can access totes.
- If you have excess recycling or organic material, please bring it to the GFL depot on Queens Way or the Landfill recycling area in Squamish.

Community library project
Seeking volunteers and donations to help set up our new community library. The BBCA recently purchased a community library to be installed by the Park near Copper Drive/Upper Crescent/Britannia Way. We hope to receive donations for a concrete footing and post to mount the library on – either supplies or monetary donations would be extremely helpful, as well as some volunteers to help install it. All help is greatly appreciated!
If anyone is interested in taking this on or getting together a small group to make it happen, please email info@britanniabeachcommunity.org
Monetary donations welcome via e-transfer to: bbcapayment@gmail.com
